February 24th, 2016
I've just returned from almost 3,5 weeks on the Lofoten Islands in Norway. At the beginning I did some photography on my own, later I hosted a photography workshop for DIE NATURFOTOWERKSTATT together with fellow photographer Heinz Hudelist.
It's really all about the light on the Lofoten Islands. In early February the sun is still very low at noon, the weather situation can change within a few minutes, these are the perfect conditions for creating images with great atmosphere. Though it's not always easy to get the image. Sea spray covers the filters, heavy winds try to knock over the tripod, a sudden blizzard destroys your long exposure... :)
But all these harsh conditions together with the light and this unique landscape is what the Lofoten Islands are all about and why many photographers (including myself) keep coming back again and again.
It was a great trip with every weather one can imagine, with lots of snow and a wonderful winter landscape, with the Aurora dancing above us and most of all with a motivated and great group of photographers. Guys, thank you and I hope you enjoyed the trip as much as I did!
Here, I want to show you a few of the images taken during this years Lofoten trip. I plan to do some more detailed posts about the Lofoten so stay tuned and come back to my site again! :)
Lofoten, see you next year! ;)
